Vasco constructed six professional grade WTA tennis courts for the Women’s event

The Vasco Group recently constructed six professional grade tennis courts for the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tennis in the Land Event. Over the span of three months, Vasco coated over 40,000 square feet for tennis play at Cleveland’s Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica.

“An event of this caliber is an incredible opportunity for The Vasco Group and the city of Cleveland. It’s a boost to our company, the economy, and the community,” Said Matt Savage, President of The Vasco Group. “Being able to collaborate with the most popular professional women’s sport in our home state of Ohio is something of which we are incredibly proud.”

The project included converting the existing parking lot located behind the Harbor Inn to house five of the six WTA tennis sanctioned courts, with the final court assembled under the main pavilion. The Vasco Group undercut, regraded, repaved, blended, sealed, and striped all courts to match the U.S. Open hard-court regulations.

This inaugural event marks Cleveland’s first time hosting a professional women’s WTA tennis tournament, but it will not be the last. The event is set to return to Cleveland for the next eight years – the first three confirmed at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica.

The Vasco Group has agreed to a three-year event construction contract with Topnotch Management, giving them the opportunity to continue showcasing their capabilities for years to come.

“Vasco did a tremendous job in constructing and surfacing our courts at Jacobs Pavilion for our inaugural Tennis in the Land event,” said Sam Duvall, President of Topnotch Management. “Matt Wilson and his team were a pleasure to work with and we look forward to working with them on future events.”
